Making Up For Lost Time (Well, Not Really)
Blerg. Sorry for the lack of updates folks. One cannot dictate the course of action taken by one’s body when cold and flu season hits and I’ve pretty much been a miserable bastard the last few weeks. First it was just a sore throat, then it was a sore throat and extreme fatigue/laziness. Then I got better, only to fall ill again a few days later. This time, full-on sinus blockage, sinus headaches, fever, inexplicably sore muscles and joints, and a resurgence the aforementioned sore throat. If I didn’t know better, I’d think I had mono. But I don’t, because I don’t go to the doctor. Because doctor’s are for sissies.In my downtime, I’ve been working on a mix tape for one of the cool cats over on the Vinyl Collective board. Dude doesn’t have a tradelist posted, so I’m going with a “best of everything ever” tape, infused with a dose of “best of what’s on my damn laptop” so I can get it done on time. I figured with a new year, perhaps I’d reiterate my integral mix tape philosophy. That is: thou must have a song on every mix tape about how awesome music is. Because really, isn’t that what a mix tape is all about? A celebration of something we all have a common love for? Isn’t your goal with every new mix to show someone something different? To change someone’s perspective? To rock someone’s ass? Of course it is. It just makes sense to me that there’s better way to express that than in exuberant song.So as an apology for not updating in way too long and (hopefully) a kick in my own ass to get me updating more regularly in the new year, here’s one of those songs.
